The Committee is responsible for stewardship of the local u3a through control of its activities and its finances. The Committee administers the registration of members and the collection of subscriptions; has responsibility for monitoring and annual reporting; and also maintains liaison with the national u3a. The Committee has the responsibility to maintain its committee strength annually by the terms of the u3a constitution.
- the maintenance of the continuously updated website to inform about our events and about our groups and to attract an ongoing flow of new members;
- to provide guidance during the formation and renewal of subject groups;
- and to provide ‘open’ meetings which bring members from across the u3a body into regular contact.
In practice, the Committee also undertakes a set of activities which are intended to promote the visibility of u3a activities, in particular:
