Thank you for your interest in Burton on Trent u3a.
Join up to Burton on Trent u3a - for a £10 annual fee you get to join any of our groups, and come along to any of our monthly open meetings. (Note: there may be expenses required by some groups. This will be noted on the individual group page.)
Our Membership Year runs from 1st April to 31st March.
Burton on Trent u3a uses a secure, digital management system known as "Beacon" to record membership and subscriptions. The system enables group membership to be monitored and records of u3a finances to be kept.
As a member of Burton upon Trent u3a, you are expected to:
- Uphold the Principles of the u3a Movement
- Understand, follow, and actively promote the Principles of the u3a Movement in all relevant contexts.
- Act in the best interests of the u3a community
- Always act in ways that support the reputation and integrity of Burton upon Trent u3a and the wider u3a Movement. Avoid any behaviour that could bring disrepute or expose the organisation to undue risk.
- Use resources responsibly
- Use Burton upon Trent u3a’s resources solely to advance its charitable aims.
- Respect organisational policies
- Reflect and adhere to the current policies of Burton upon Trent u3a, even if they differ from your personal views.
- Follow procedures and practices
- Abide by the established procedures and practices of Burton upon Trent u3a.
- Foster a respectful environment
- Treat fellow members with dignity, kindness, and respect at all times.
- Support committee decisions
- Respect and support the decisions made by the elected committee, recognising their role in guiding the organisation.
- Keep your details up to date
- Notify the Membership Secretary promptly of any changes to your personal information.

Complete the form and send it to the Membership Secretary with your cheque. The current membership secretary's address can be found on the membership form.
Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope so that your Membership Card can be sent to you.
You can come to the Burton u3a Coffee Mornings which are held at Centro in Cooper's Square on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. The coffee mornings run from 10:00-11:30am. Membership application forms are available at the venue. If the Membership Secretary is present you will be given your membership card straight away; if not, your form will be passed to the Membership Secretary. Your membership card will then be sent to you by post.

There is now an option to join online via this website. Payment is made through PayPal but you do not need to have a PayPal account or create one: just follow your preferred choice. If you are renewing, it will also be necessary to Register for a membership account - I suggest that you have a password ready for this. The portal gives you access to update your own personal details. On completion of payment an automated email is sent confirming your membership number and with your e-membership card. Please note that there is an option to request a physical membership card when using this process.
