This is an eclectic group of musicians, singers and those who just want to sing along, tap their feet and generally soak up the convivial atmosphere. There is no minimum standard required - we just would like to see people who want to come along and join in. We aren't teaching people how to play instruments (there are other groups for that) but at the same time, you don't have to be a virtuoso! At present we have a core of guitars, ukuleles and bass, plus a range of other instruments including accordion, violin, mandolin, tin whistle, and recorder.

We meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday afternoon, between 1pm and 3pm, at the Priory Centre, Church Rd, Burton-on-Trent DE13 0HF - we meet in the main hall. There is a £2 charge, and 20p for a cuppa during the half-time interval.

We are a friendly group of people and we encourage and support each other, and everyone is welcome even if you'd just like to sit and listen and occasionally sing along with the songs you know.

If you'd like to know more, please contact the group leader, Scott Spiers, using either of the email links above.

On Thursday, 15th January, our Folk Group gathered at The Mulberry at the College in Burton for a late Christmas lunchtime celebration. Twenty-three of us, including some partners, enjoyed a delightful three-course meal. The Mulberry went above and beyond by preparing a special vegan dish just for us. Our group usually meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, at the Priory in Stretton.
